We had the joy of hearing Lauren and Troy’s fairytale love story, a chance meeting, love at first sight, the tragedy of distant love, and the joy of being reunited and spending their life together.

Lauren and Troy, an amazing couple both inside and out! Lauren is a warm bubbly personality that greets everyone with a joy and warmth so much bigger than her petite frame, Troy is a handsome devil (with an amazing jawline) who has the quiet depth and strength of a hero who can really only exist in literature.
As I watched them relate to each other as we were setting up for the shoot, it was like watching ballrooms dancers who were graceful and fluid in their movements seeming to think and act at the same time with each other to the music.

We hope you enjoy their love story!

So you’ve picked the date, hired a coordinator, chosen a venue, recruited a wedding party, tasted cakes and booked the photographer… You are ready for the big day!!!

But wait, did you forget something??

Every couple has a crazy schedule leading up to the Big Day, too often couples can overlook the importance of having someone film the day. Yes, videography has gotten a bad rap. Perhaps it’s due to the fact that until recently, getting a wedding video meant having a guy, dressed all in black, running around with a huge camera on his shoulder and a light mounted on the camera that could make your eyeballs start spinning.

Yes, we know that guy… he filmed our wedding!

While we were not thrilled with the way our videographer worked, we were SO happy that we decided to get our wedding day filmed! See, we knew that no matter what, we wanted to remember that day!

The good news is things in the video world have changed.  Having your wedding filmed no longer has to be blinding and obtrusive.  Creatively edited wedding films can be a great way to experience the emotion and events of one of the most celebrated days of your life, your wedding day.

A short film lets you experience a memory in context.  The anticipation leading up the ceremony, the joy of your first sight, the indescribable feeling of kissing as husband and wife, and the outpouring of love by family and friends who are there to celebrate this amazing new life you are about to begin!!

So, while all the details are important… Will you have a way to remember them, more importantly will you have a way to experience them again?!  How cool would it be to share your wedding film with your grandkids; and so many years later still be able to experience – not just remember- your wedding day just like it was happening right now.

We were invited by a super talented group of industry friends to put together a short film for their Mid Summer Night’s Dream inspired shoot.   We had a lot of fun putting this film together and are so excited that Ruffled wedding blog decided to feature this romantic shoot and share it with their readers!

Shelly and Michael were a great couple to work with, we loved their energy, friendliness, and class. Michael has a quiet confidence about him, although when speaking about his alma mater The University of Alabama, that confidence is not so quiet. ROLLTIDE!

Both Michael and Shelly have a personality that draws you in, and seeing them on their wedding day is knowing they were meant to be together.

They are both happy fun loving people who cherish their friends and family, and are authentic with those they meet. I personally enjoyed watching Michael and his Dad (pops) on the day of the wedding, there seems to truly be a father/son relationship that has grown into a deep friendship.

Michael and Shelly, thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your day, we loved it!

We had the amazing opportunity to meet Emily and Justin, a friendly and fun loving couple who had a spectacular wedding! Emily’s smile will brighten up a room and it was so obvious that she and Justin were in love with each other!

From the majestic 3 story chapel at Park City Baptist Church, to the reception at Hickory Street Annex, everything seemed to be exactly what they wanted as they celebrated, with friends and family, starting their new life together.

It is always fun to be a part of a couple’s wedding day, but when joy comes through someone’s smile like Emily’s that day, it is a reminder of the wild abandon that is love and takes the experience for us as cinematographers to another level.

Thank you Emily and Justin for allowing us to be a part of your day, it was an honor to create your wedding film.
